Virginia House passes bill to end mask mandates in public schools
The party-line vote in the Virginia House on Monday gets a bill to end mask mandates in public schools closer to a signature from Governor Youngkin.
I am pleased that there is widespread and bipartisan support in Virginia for a parental opt-out of mask mandates in schools. Today, the General Assembly took a significant step for parents and children.

Select Democrats sided with the GOP in the Senate last week to advance the bill that has been challenged in court by parents in half a dozen school districts who want all students wearing a mask to protect those with weakened immune systems and other conditions.
Reports in Richmond say Youngkin will place an emergency clause of the legislation to make it effective immediately.
