White Pine police investigating truck stop death off Interstate 81

A death investigation continues in White Pine after an Alabama truck driver was killed in a truck stop parking lot.

A report from town police said 64-year-old Gary Clark had parked his rig in the rear parking area of the Pilot Travel Center off Interstate 81 when another driver ran over Clark as he walked toward the retail area.

Investigators noted that the suspected driver was warned inside the store about the accident, then drove off of the property.
