2 arrested after weekend pursuit in Johnson City
Two individuals are charged after a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle ended in a crash with injuries. Around 2:20 p.m. Saturday, THP located a stolen Ford Fusion from North Carolina. The vehicle was traveling on University Parkway in Johnson City when officers attempted a traffic stop. The driver fled kicking off a high-speed pursuit through Johnson City, running several red lights and stop signs on State of Franklin Road, Marketplace Boulevard, West Walnut Street, and University Parkway. On West Walnut Street, the vehicle collided with a Honda. The driver of the Honda was not injured in the crash. Both occupants in the Ford fled on foot and were later apprehended. The driver of the Ford, 23 year old, Devan Billings, faces several charges, including vehicle theft, evading arrest, simple possession, and Active Probation Violation Warrants, among other charges. The passenger in the Ford, 24 year old, Dakota Tucker, was reportedly injured in the crash and charged with Evading Arrest and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
