36,000 speeding violations recorded in the VA I-81 Exit 7-10 work zone
More than 36,000 speeding violations have been recorded in Virginia’s I-81 work zone safety camera program between Exit 7 and 10 since it launched on May 18th. According to the Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office, an average of 18,000 vehicles travel through the active work zone each day. The program has led to 10% reduction in speeds and increasing driver compliance to 95%. As of Monday morning, 36,088 violations have been recorded since the program began.
