Virginians to receive 65% of SNAP benefits by Thursday

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin said on Sunday that he expects more than 850,000 Virginians to receive 65% of their SNAP benefits by Thursday. Youngkin said in a social media post that the decision followed “new federal guidance” and SNAP benefits will be issued no later than this Thursday for Virginians. Youngkin’s announcement followed the news that the Senate has enough votes to end the government shutdown after 40 days.
