Washington County VA Public Schools receives grant to enhance security

Washington County Virginia Public Schools announced they were awarded a federal grant to enhance school safety. The division said they were awarded over 496,000 dollars through the FY25 School Violence Prevention Program which is administered by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. The school system says the grant will support enhanced security measures, prevention-focused programs, and improved safety infrastructure.
