Animal cruelty suspect in Telford faces possible deportation

The Washington County Tennessee Sheriff’s Office says a Telford resident booked on an animal cruelty charge is being held in the Jonesborough jail after authorities were notified of a detainer placed on the man by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Rudy Dubon, 38, had dead animal carcasses on his property while a dog, horse and goats were all found restrained without access to food or water, according to investigators.

With the federal retainer, Dubon will remain in police custody for 48 hours for possible deportation proceedings by ICE officials.
