Authorities continue to search for missing SWVA football coach

Authorities continue to look for a missing Southwest Virginia football coach last seen Thursday. The Virginia State Police say that the agency was still seeking 46 year old Travis Turner of Appalachia. Search and rescue teams, drones and K9s, are all being used in the seach efforts. The agency said VSP agents were sent to Turner’s home in Wise County on Thursday, “as part of the early stages of an investigation.” The VSP has repeatedly said that agents were not going to Turner’s home to arrest him. State police learned while heading to Turner’s home that he was no longer at the residence. Turner has been added to the VSP’s missing persons database. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, sweatpants and glasses. Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is asked to call VSP.
