TDOT and VDOT ready for record holiday travel

With AAA predicting record travel on the roadways for the Thanksgiving holiday, officials with VDOT and TDOT are ready. VDOT is lifting lane closures in most work zones beginning Wednesday at Noon until Monday, December 1st. TDOT is also halting lane closures from noon Wednesday through 6 a.m. Monday. TDOT is also reminding drivers about ongoing repairs on I-40 heading into North Carolina. TDOT officials also remind travelers of a 13 to 14 mile section of I-40 from Tennessee and North Carolina is still only one lane in each direction and officials say that could slow holiday traffic.
