Greene County man facing 3 counts of attempted 2nd degree murder after standoff
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office reports that a man was taken into custody and faces multiple counts of attempted murder after allegedly firing shots at deputies in Greene County on Friday during a standoff with police. Deputies were called to the 1300 block of Warrensburg Road around 7 a.m. after a caller told emergency dispatchers that 47 year old Todd McCamey had barricaded himself in the basement of a home. McCamey had allegedly threatened family members and barricaded himself in the basement with knives and guns. McCamey began firing at deputies when they arrived at the scene. The standoff lasted over 5 hours with McCamey firing multiple shots inside the home and at officers. McCamey then contacted deputies around 12:30 p.m. and told them he wanted to resolve the matter and was taken into custody without any further incident, then taken to the Greene County Detention Center. He is facing multiple charges including 3 counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder.
