State of Franklin Healthcare issues statement on Ballad Health financial assistance
Executives with State of Franklin Healthcare issued a statement Wednesday confirming a financial agreement with Ballad Health to help retire some of the debt encountered recently by the independent group.
Under a new physician leadership structure, the State of Franklin group sought temporary financial solutions to remain stable at a time when the group was facing worker shortages and national reimbursement plan changes.
State of Franklin president Dr. Grover May said in the prepared statement that doctors and patients should make decisions about care, not shareholders or investors, so a purchase or merger has not been discussed with Ballad and their plans are to stay independent.
