New Wayfinding signs being installed in downtown Elizabethton
The installation of new wayfinding signs has started in downtown Elizabethton. The new signs were made possible through a state tourism grant. City officials say the signs will “better inform, connect, and welcome visitors, both locals and tourists, to the downtown district.” The project includes signage directing visitors to downtown points of interest, including the Covered Bridge, library, and visitors’ center. Signs will also be installed at each of the 14 public parking lots downtown, and each lot will be named. Directional signs along main corridors will help direct drivers to the lots. Installation is expected to be complete in the coming weeks. A dedication will be held in the spring.
