ETSU alum and actor Timothy Busfield criminally charged in New Mexico

East Tennessee State University alumnus and actor Timothy Busfield is charged in New Mexico with one count of child sexual abuse that the victim said occurred while on the set of the FOX tv series The Cleaning Lady.

Busfield, who starred in and directed episodes for the show, is accused of inappropriately touching a male child under the age of 10, according to police information. A published report said an internal investigation into the allegations against Busfield was conducted by the show’s producers Warner Brothers and found no evidence to support the claims.

Busfield attended ETSU in the late 1970s and played baseball for the Bucs until he switched to theatre classes and went on to star in features like Field of Dreams and Revenge of the Nerds. Busfield has been a keynote speaker at two ETSU commencement ceremonies including the 2024 event.
