Wise County’s Chad Dotson exiting role as Corrections Director

Wise County native and Deparment of Corrections Director Chad Dotson announced his departure from the office he was appointed to by exiting Governor Glenn Youngkin.

Dotson had reported in May that Virginia had the lowest recidivism rate in the US during his watch. Dotson, a Circuit Court judge prior to his appointment, said in his social media exit that he plans to keep work for the Commonwealth and for public safety a priority.

Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger has yet to announce her choice for new corrections director.
