State of Emergency declared in Tennessee ahead of impending winter storm
The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has provided an update ahead of a winter storm in the forecast for Tennessee this weekend. The agency said it will provide real-time updates about warming centers and roadway conditions via the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s SmartWay interactive map. TEMA officials said Tennessee is under a Level 3 – State of Emergency, that Governor Bill Lee signed Thursday. Officials suggest people stay home unless absolutely necessary, noting that staying off the roads is important to give TDOT workers space to help maintain quickly changing roadway conditions. The storm is expected to make the biggest impact in the Tri Cities Saturday evening through Sunday Morning.
