Steppingstone from Limestone’s Crockett family cabin headed to The Alamo

Officials with David Crockett Birthplace State Park are launching a historic travel tour as they bring a special item from Northeast Tennessee to the pioneer’s last stand.

The pilgrimage will be posted on social media as workers transport a piece of the Crockett family cabin steppingstone to The Alamo in San Antonio for a display commemorating the 190th battle where Crockett died in 1836.

Staff members will produce videos along the way that feature noteworthy sites connected to Crockett. The Alamo ceremony is scheduled for next Friday.
