UPDATE: Appalachian School of Law to receive financial lifeline after vote
A financial bailout of $3.4 million for the Appalachian School of Law has been approved by the Buchanan County Board of Supervisors.
The plan must also be approved by the town of Grundy but if the college does not survive its latest funding problem and continued low attendance, the law school property will revert back to the county.
Law school leaders have also discussed a possible merger with Roanoke College while House Rep. Will Morefield called the last minute bargaining for financing unacceptable.
