Fentanyl found in Interstate 81 traffic stop in Bristol

Several city and federal agencies including the ATF were involved in a drug seizure following a traffic stop in Bristol, Virginia on Interstate 81.

A city report said investigators got a tip about a possible transport of fentanyl across state lines. The information led to the stop of Gavin Adams, 20, of Unicoi, who was charged with felony possession and transport after officers found an ounce of fentanyl in Adams’ vehicle.

The DEA assisted Bristol and officers with the Holston River Task Force in the operation.
