Bristol VA to consider rezoning for “recreational substance” stores in the city
The City of Bristol, Virginia, is considering a rezoning ordinance by the planning commission that could affect the potential for new ‘recreational substance’ stores in the city. The ordinance would restrict where the new businesses can set up shop. Existing businesses would be grandfathered in and city officials say that the grandfather clause would stay with the location even if an existing business moved out. The ordinance will have one more reading by the city council and is expected to be in June. If it’s approved, the ordinance will go into effect 30 days later.
