Greeneville leaders consider property tax increase
Greeneville leaders are considering a property tax increase as part of the town’s proposed fiscal year 2027 budget. The plan would increase property taxes by four cents making the new tax rate essentially $1.75 per $100 of assessed value. The move would bring in about $260,000 in additional revenue. The budget also includes step raises for employees, required funding for Greeneville schools, and several capital projects including Highway 11E improvements, storm water upgrades and tennis court improvements.
