Greeneville selects new assistant police chief
One of the Greeneville Police Department’s captains has been promoted to assistant police chief. Eddie Key was named assistant police chief, effective Tuesday. Key will serve as the second-in-command for the department, with duties that include supervising personnel, overseeing training, and managing budgets. The promotion came soon after Greeneville named it’s new police chief: Josh Pierce. Pierce was also a captain within the department. Key graduated from Chuckey-Doak High School and brings 20 years of law enforcement experience to the role. He was hired onto the force in 2005 as an auxiliary officer and rose through the ranks.
