Fatality reported in single vehicle crash on 11-E

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 11-E near the Jonesborough Flea Market. The crash happened around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, and resulted in the death of the 17-year-old male driver. Two other passengers in the vehicle, one of which was a juvenile, were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation by the Crash Reconstruction Team determined that the vehicle was traveling well above the posted 65 mph speed limit when the driver lost control due to weaving in and out of traffic and hit a metal utility pole.
