VSP report more details on Honaker shooting

A statement from the Virginia State Police provided the names of the victims of a murder suicide that occurred last week in Russell County.

The victim was identified as Larissa Caldwell, 45, of Chilhowie after officers arrived on the scene at the Honaker property.

The report said the alleged gunman, Walter Yates, 54, turned the gun on himself during the police investigation at the home. The case remains under review.
