Police asking for witnesses to fatal Volunteer Parkway crash

Police in Bristol, Tennessee, are asking eyewitnesses of a fatal two-vehicle crash on Volunteer Parkway to come forward to provide more information.

The preliminary report said the incident occurred after 6 a.m. Thursday morning when the rider of the cycle identified as 43-year-old Joshua Lee Mumpower collided with a pickup truck that was crossing the road in the parkway’s 2600 block, less than a half mile from Exide Drive.

Mumpower was pronounced dead from his injuries at an area hospital.
