Report: Bristol, Virginia man claimed junkers were inherited, sold them without a title
A Bristol, Virginia man who managed to sell 10 junk vehicles without a title is facing 30 related charges in Washington County.
Charles Alexander, 27, was arrested while trying to make more of the illegal deals with towing companies, according to a county report, and is charged with grand larceny, obtaining money under false pretenses, and selling an automobile without a title.
Investigators said Alexander directed buyers to the Rich Valley Road property and sold the junkers over a three-day period while telling the hauling companies he recently inherited the autos.
The vehicles were all returned and additional charges against Alexander are pending, according to investigators.
