SCSO arrest Kingsport man for making threats to 2 churches
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office reports that a man has been arrested for making threats to two churches. The sheriff’s office was made aware of threats made by 39 year old Robert Lewis Wilson of Kingsport, on Thursday afternoon. Investigators determined that Wilson had allegedly called a local church and left a threatening voicemail that caused church staff members to fear for their safety. Detectives later learned that Wilson had reportedly called a second church and left another voicemail that prompted staff members to also fear for their safety. In that second voicemail, Wilson referenced the threats he made in the first phone call. The Sheriff’s Office said Wilson was a former member of one of the churches and had been trespassed from the location. Wilson was arrested Thursday and charged with threats of mass violence, assault, and harassment. Wilson was booked into the Sullivan County Jail.
