THP: Falling tree injures 2 in Fort Henry Drive accident Sunday afternoon

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that two people were injured in a crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 36 near Kingsport. The THP crash report says a Ford Ranger was traveling north on Fort Henry Drive near Jackson Hollow Road at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday when “an old tree fell” on the truck’s bed. The impact caused the truck to become airborne, travel over the guardrail then roll down an embankment ending up in a creek. The THP said a male driver and a female passenger were both injured in the crash.
