Haysi VA Town Council votes to expel Mayor Larry Yates

The Haysi Town Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to move forward with the expulsion process for Mayor Larry Yates, following his mid-September arrest. Yates, who is currently out on bond, faces multiple felony charges, including embezzlement, fraud, and the misuse of public assets for personal benefit. The council previously called an emergency meeting on September 22nd to demand his resignation.
