High-speed internet coming to all of Greene County
High-speed internet is officially on the way to every corner of Greene County. The Greeneville Energy Authority has announced that fiber-optic cables are arriving, and construction bids are now open for its multi-million-dollar expansion project. Operating under the GEA Connect brand, the utility plans to bring high-speed fiber internet to its entire electric service territory within the next three years—with officials aiming to finish even sooner. The rollout includes building twelve hundred miles of new fiber network and adding seven new distribution facilities. Residents can check their local neighborhood availability or pre-register on the GEA Connect Map.
