TN lawmakers demand answers From TDOC following security breakdowns
State lawmakers are demanding urgent answers from the Department of Correction following several high-profile security breakdowns. Convicted killer Jacob Morley escaped the Northwest Correctional Complex late Sunday by slipping through a fence. This comes just days after an inmate slipped out of handcuffs at a Nashville hospital, and weeks after another inmate literally walked out of the old section of the Sullivan County Jail in Blountville. While the Sullivan County inmate was caught within minutes, lawmakers say the sheer frequency of these breaches is completely unacceptable. State officials emphasize that overhauling prison and jail administration must be Tennessee’s top priority as leadership changes loom. Morley remains at large and is considered dangerous and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 1-800-TBI-FIND.
