Appalachian League steps to the plate for the ’26 season
A full slate of games are set as the first pitch of the 2026 Appalachian League season is thrown on Thursday.
In Northeast Tennessee, Kingsport, Elizabethton and Greeneville have their home openers for the year and the first of 48 scheduled games through July 30th.
The teams and cities have changed but the history behind the Appalachian League is rich as one of the oldest leagues in MLB history and the most continuous seasons of play in the US excluding the COVID pandemic and restructuring period with games beginning in 1957.
