Appalachian School of Law named one of the top practical training spots in the US
After several weeks of stress about their future, some optimistic news was delivered to the Appalachian School of Law in Grundy.
Evaluators with the National Jurist publication have ranked the Buchanan County institution as one of the top 60 US law schools in practical training. It means ASL is excelling in giving students hands-on legal situations to advance their learning with such exercises as moot court, internships, clinics and simulation courses.
Appalachian is ranked 52nd in the country, one spot above the University of Tennessee and outpacing other top shelf schools including Georgetown, Indiana, Ohio State and Texas.
The school is getting back into good financial standing thanks to increases in alumni funding and several million dollars in financial assistance from Buchanan County leadership.
