Ballad Health COPA moves closer to being dissolved
The Tennessee Senate approved an amended bill from the House of Representatives that would dissolve the Certificate of Public Advantage, which allowed for the creation of Ballad Health. The bill included an amendment that would remove the Certificate of Need requirement for establishing a new hospital in the area in mid-2028. Rep. Timothy Hill sponsored the amendment and believes removing the Certificate of Need requirement will encourage more competition in the local health care arena. The House passed the bill on April 6. It will now head to Gov. Bill Lee’s desk for his signature.
