Bristol, VA hopes to extend Mendota Trail into downtown

Bristol, Virginia city leaders, after a meeting to gauge public input, recently presented a feasibility study looking at extending the Mendota Trail from the trail head at Interstate 81 to Cumberland Park in the downtown area. City officials say the trail extension would help existing businesses and could attract new ones centered around recreation like biking and hiking. Officials say the next step is to secure funding for the project.
