Dental non profit seeks community help to unlock grant funds
A dental nonprofit in the Appalachian Highlands is asking the community to help unlock a matching grant. Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Charities says the Secular Society will release $150,000 only if the community contributes an equal amount. If secured, the grant would pay for seven new operating rooms at the group’s Abingdon clinic and that would expand the capacity and cut into a backlog of more than 3,000 patients waiting for dental care. Leaders say every donation counts and will help bring much-needed dental care to the region.
