In Tennessee drivers are getting a slight break, with the state average ticking down to $4.01, while Virginia motorists are paying more at $4.17 a gallon. But the biggest sting continues to hit commercial transport and farming. Driven by international supply strains, the national diesel average has climbed to $6.45. Truckers and farmers face severe premiums across both states, with diesel averaging $6.16 a gallon in Tennessee and soaring to $6.36 in Virginia.
