Ed Sheeran Comes Up With A Unique Way To Help An Old Friend Pay Her Mortgage
Ed Sheeran gave an old childhood friend a songwriting credit on his last album so she could afford her mortgage. Her name is Amy Wadge, and she’s a musician who collaborated with him before he made it big. He says, quote, “She was going through financial troubles about a year ago . . . my album was nearly done . . . and she asked if I could put a song from when I was 17 on the deluxe version, so she could get a little bit of money and pay [her] bills.” That song is called “Even My Dad Does Sometimes” but while they were hanging out, they came up with “Thinking Out Loud.” Ed says, “[‘Thinking Out Loud’] wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t come down from Wales to see me . . . now she never has to worry about money again.”
