Gov. Lee appoints new judge for First Judicial District
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced Tuesday that he appointed Scott Shults as the new judge for the First Judicial District following Judge Stacy Street’s appointment to the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. The First Judicial District includes Carter, Johnson, Unicoi and Washington counties. Judge Street had served as the First Judicial District judge since 2013. Shults currently serves as the Assistant District Attorney for the First Judicial District. He earned a bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University and a juris doctor from Appalachian School of Law.
