Investigation underway after body discovered in Buchanan County

An investigation has begun after a body was found in Buchanan County. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an abandoned vehicle on an ATV trail around two miles off Old Wolf Road. Deputies found a pickup truck that was stuck in the mud, with a dog inside. The dog was turned over to Buchanan County Animal Control. A search team was deployed and K-9 Nyx and Deputy Hawks were able to quickly find a deceased woman. The body was identified as Kimberly Christian, the owner of the truck; she was not reported as a missing person. The body was taken to Roanoke for an autopsy.
