Jonesborough crews near completion of new Frontier Trail

Crews in Jonesborough are nearing completion on their section of the First Frontier Trail—an eight-foot-wide paved path built to make the region fully walkable and bikeable. This new stretch is designed to connect pedestrians and cyclists straight from Jonesborough into Johnson City, creating a seamless link to the famous ten-mile Tweetsie Trail. Parks and Recreation officials say the town’s portion is right on track and brings the community a massive step closer to a fully connected, regional trail network.
