Millions in tourism grants awarded to three Northeast Tennessee projects
Three Northeast Tennessee projects can move forward after millions of dollars was awarded by the Department of Environment & Conservation.
Two of those are based in Unicoi County—the first, a take-out spot on the lower Nolichucky River to expand tourism and help hurricane recovery efforts valued at $2.2 million; the second—more than $390,000 in grants to help with the River Landing plan, also near the Nolichucky with park improvement included in the construction.
The third award was $1.5 million for the town of Mount Carmel to construct a new splash pad and refurbish existing baseball fields.
