Missing child found in Johnson County

A report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says state officials will conduct future check-ins with the guardians of an 8-year-old juvenile.

A message from Sheriff Shawn Brown said the child went missing from a caregiver on Tuesday but because of the work of the Mountain City Police Department and other law enforcement, they were able to recover the juvenile with a rapid response.

The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services had the case referred to their agency and will make further assessments, according to the sheriff.
