New TN bill could allow private school student athletes to play for another school
A new state bill in TN would allow student athletes at smaller private schools to try out for another school’s sports program. The Tennessee Secondary School Activities Association already allows home-schooled students to play for a school in their home district. The TSSAA say it is fine with the new bill which has already passed through the Senate. The number of students the new bill would benefit statewide is relatively small. The bill was discussed earler this week in the House, but questions over how the bill would be fair to public schools and their athletes led to the vote being deferred.
