November 21: The date of the 84th excursion of the CSX Santa Train

Some mark the beginning of the holiday season when they see Santa on the rugged rails of Eastern Kentucky and Southwest Virginia.

The annual CSX Santa Train excursion, now in its 84th year, is scheduled for its annual 110-mile trek from Shelby, Kentucky., to Kingsport on November 21st. Santa will also have more than 15,000 toys and winter accessories on board to distribute at select stops with Santa’s army of volunteers sorting packages for the trip at the Eastman Road location of Food City that week.
