Planned water outage in Buchanan County scheduled for Monday

Residents and businesses in Buchanan County, plus the entire town of Haysi, are expected to be without water for much of the day Monday as crews begin major infrastructure upgrades. The Buchanan County Public Service Authority said a planned water outage will start at 4 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 28. The outage area extends from the top of Big Ridge Road toward Haysi, continuing on Sandlick Road and through Priest Fork Road. Service is expected to be restored at 8 p.m. A boil water notice may be issued after the work is done.
