Repair projects leaves Tazewell High without cafeteria and gym for fall semester
The cafeteria, kitchen, and gymnasium at Tazewell High School are out of commission and Superintendent Chris Stacy says they both could be vacant until the winter semester.
Delays in a foundation wall stabilization project for the complex have resulted in meals being prepared at the middle school then shipped to Tazewell High. Breakfast grab-and-go bags will also be made available to students, according to the school official.
The school system has also instituted a new clear bag policy for backpacks and lunch boxes with daily checks from administrators to make sure students are in compliance.
Classes begin in Tazewell County on Monday.
