Report: Stolen Appaloosa winds up in Northeast Tennessee
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Crime Unit just concluded a case of two stolen horses being sold, including one to a buyer in Northeast Tennessee.
Shaleah Leann Peels and Kyleigh Marie Shell, both of Monroe County, are accused of taking the animals from a farm in June then advertised the horses for sale that ended with the local purchase of an Appaloosa valued at $5,000.
The women surrendered to police and were charged with one count of theft. The horse brought to our region has been recovered and returned to its owner.
