Road closures Friday in Greeneville for Main Street: Halloween Happenings fest

The Town of Greeneville is shutting down major downtown corridors for the annual Main Street: Greeneville Halloween Happenings festival this Friday, October 30. The traffic disruption accommodates thousands of expected pedestrians gathering between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. The free community event features coordinated trick-or-treating for children under 13 at local businesses and the county courthouse, alongside hayrides, and other Halloween activities. To secure the area, police will clear all on-street parking within the zone beginning at 3:00 PM. Hard street closures take effect at 3:30 PM and remain active until 6:15 PM. Affected areas include Main Street from the mid-block 200s down to McKee Street. Barricades will also block segments of Irish, Depot, Summer, and College streets. Commuters are instructed to avoid the area and utilize alternate routes and if in the area to watch out for heavy pedestrian traffic.
