Schools denies request for stronger sanctions for alleged rape suspect at Radford
A female student accusing two members of a Radford University fraternity of rape had a request for harsher sanctions against one of the men denied by the school.
Published reports said a frat member questioned about the incident was suspended for four months and told to write an essay. The alleged incident took place in March of last year and it was completed by Radford officials a year later.
Administrators have said a new committee is being formed to revamp laws and punishments for students convicted of such crimes while the situation prompted an on-campus rally last week.
