Services set for co-founder of regional chain Buddy’s BBQ
Memorial services are set for this weekend for the co-founder of the regional Buddy’s B-B-Q chain of restaurants.
A company statement said LaMurial Smothers died on Wednesday at the age of 95.
The matriarch of the Buddy’s business started her first eatery, the Pixie Drive In in Seymour, in 1966. The couple sold the business, learned the trade of preparing BBQ, and it expanded into its current 19 locations.
